Yr 10 Work Experience

Work Experience Report – Term 2, 2025

30th June – 4th July 2025

In the final week of Term 2, Our Year 10 students stepped out of the classroom and into the workforce as part of our annual Work Experience Program.

Running from 30 June to 4 July 2025, the program gave students a chance to explore different industries, build real-world skills, and get a taste of life beyond school.

Students were placed in a wide variety of workplaces – from legal firms and vet clinics to retail stores, Primary Schools, trades, and early learning centres – with placements tailored to their interests and career goals.

Employers were full of praise, commending students for their enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn.

Congratulations to all our students for representing the school so well, and thank you to the employers, mentors, and staff who helped make the week such a success!

Students were asked 'what has been the most surprising or interesting thing you have learned during this placement?'.  Below are some of their responses:

  • Elyse C "The connections the kids have made with me" (Childcare)
  • Liam G "How to change and balance car tyres" (Automotive)
  • Riley E "Being kind goes a long way" (Teaching)
  • Liam F and Jackson L "How teachers teach the class" (Teaching)
  • Lincoln M "How they’re using GPS to map the site" (Earth moving)
  • Lucas R "The kids have amazing memory if it's in a song" (Teaching)
  • Ruby W "Correct Techniques for using cordless drills" (Construction)
