St Joseph’s the Worker is committed to promoting and maintaining a safe and welcoming community for all families and students. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students is the school’s paramount duty and support families in managing the challenges of keeping their children safe online.

As part of our commitment to promoting and maintaining a safe and welcoming community for all families and students, the school was recently visited by Senior Constable Toni Mae Wilson from Preston Police for an engaging and informative presentation about the Federal Government’s ‘ThinkUKnow ‘cyber safety program. The session was attended by both students and parents throughout the day, and it provided valuable insights into how we can all stay safe online.

The ThinkUKnow program, delivered in partnership with the Australian Federal Police, is designed to help young people, parents, and carers better understand the online environment and the potential risks associated with technology use. Our Senior Constable, Toni Mae, covered important topics such as cyberbullying, online grooming, inappropriate content, and identity theft in a way that was interactive and easy for students to understand. Parents also gained practical tips and tools to help create a safer online experience for their children.

The students were engaged and asking thoughtful, reflective questions and discussed topics intended to help them learn how to make smart choices online.

If you’d like to find out more about the ThinkUKnow program or access additional resources, please visit www.thinkuknow.org.au

In addition, you can visit this ThinkUKnow Fact Sheet to help you talk about being safe online with your child.

Let’s continue working together to keep our children safe in the digital world!
