MLA

This term, our curious young scientists in MLA have been exploring the fascinating world of forces through hands-on investigation and experimentation. From push and pull to friction and motion, students have been learning how different forces affect the way objects move.

A highlight of our unit has been working with Spheros – programmable robots that students have been using to test their understanding of motion. Most recently, the MLAs took on an exciting design challenge: to build their very own carriage that could be attached to a Sphero and successfully move across different surfaces.

Students have shown incredible creativity and persistence as they designed, tested, and refined their carriages — thinking critically about balance, weight, friction, and force!
