Magnify

Catholic Mission and Formation
To ensure that all students receive high quality Religious Education at Sacred Heart, part of the Magnify Sandhurst initiative involves supporting staff in the teaching of the Source of Life (R.E.) curriculum. We know our teachers have varied experience and expertise in the content and approach to teaching of the Source of Life, so low-variance teaching units have been created. Teacher scripts, prescribed resources and common assessments can be accessed by the teachers to support their teaching and deepen the learning in R.E.
Across the year, staff have access to differentiated professional development that supports their spiritual formation and professional learning. As a school, we have identified areas in Religious Education that we will focus on. These areas include prayer, scripture, sacraments and the traditions of the church.
We know the value of our Catholic Identity at Sacred Heart and that it is the foundation for which all we do is built upon. The explicit teaching of our Mercy values (compassion, justice and service) guides us in educating the ‘whole child’ and achieving our graduate outcomes. When people say they like the “feel” of our school, we put a lot of that down to our Catholic Identity and the Mercy values in action.
