CSEN Sports Leadership Conference

On Thursday 8th May our Secondary and Primary Sports Leaders attended the CSEN Sports Leadership Conference. They attended with many other schools at IKON Park Carlton. The Sports Leadership Summit provided a framework and opportunity for students to grow in their leadership.

We heard from guest speakers:

- Shaun Hart - 2002 Norm Smith Medallist and a Brisbane Lions Hall of Famer, Shaun Hart returns to share more about his Faith and the platform sport provided.

- Kade Klemke (FCA) - A former Essendon rookie-listed player and a successful player / coach in Canberra, Kade returns to continue share his passion for coaches and athletes to develop in Body-Mind-Heart / Spirit.

At the sports leadership conference I learnt that I could use my glory to glorify God and not myself. There I learnt a lot from famous AFL player Shaun Hart who was a strong Christian and taught us about his journey and his struggles and how Jesus helped him overcome the problems in his life. After we learnt about leadership, we all went outside to play some games. We were split into a few teams, for games and the point of that was to get us to be with different people and help us connect with people from other schools. In my team I learnt how to get along with other people I don’t know. At the CSEN leadership conference I met a lot of people who helped me grow even greater in my Christian faith. I felt very at home there and I loved it a lot it was the best School event I’ve ever been to.
