Secondary School Update

Our female students in Years 9 and 10 were given a remarkable opportunity to attend the Women in Technology event at Wyndham Tech School in Term 1. The event was aimed at inspiring and empowering young women to explore careers in technology, featuring accomplished women from the Level Crossing Removal Project.

During the day, students had the chance to engage in a hands-on activity that challenged their creativity and problem-solving skills. They participated in an activity that that required them to design a sustainable train station within a budget, an exercise that required careful planning and innovative thinking. After developing their designs, the students presented their ideas and then brought them to life using a 3D software program.

This experience not only provided valuable insights into the world of technology and infrastructure but also offered a unique glimpse into the future of urban development. The students left the event feeling motivated and inspired by the women professionals they met, further igniting their interest in pursuing careers in technology and engineering. It was an empowering day that showcased the possibilities available to young women in the tech industry.
