Message from the
Acting Head of Secondary
Alex Tsenalidis
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Acting Head of Secondary and extend my heartfelt thanks to all the students, parents, and staff who have warmly welcomed me to Christway. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know so many of our wonderful students over the past two terms.
At Christway, I have already witnessed the strong sense of community, the commitment to student growth, and the deep faith that underpins all that we do. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of a school that upholds Christian values and supports the holistic development of each student.
This term, our students have taken part in a number of outstanding opportunities. A particular highlight was Rally Day, where students demonstrated sportsmanship and teamwork in basketball and frisbee. We were also proud to see two students represent our school in the WYNSPEAK Public Speaking Competition, where they showed great courage and communication skills. Students are also looking forward to our upcoming Athletics Day, scheduled for late June, which will be a fun and energetic way to end the term.
Our Year 10 students have had an especially impactful term. They participated in a life-changing Mission Trip to Townsville, where they served the local community and returned with meaningful reflections on faith, service, and leadership. As they begin exploring their future pathways, students also attended the VCE Careers Expo at the Melbourne Convention Centre and took part in our VCE Information Evening with their parents—events designed to guide them through their decision-making for the years ahead.
Looking forward, Year 10 students will also be taking part in Mock Interviews, where they will be interviewed by external industry professionals—an important opportunity to practice career-readiness skills in a real-world setting.
This term also sees the introduction of mid-year exams for students in Years 7 to 10. These assessments are a valuable part of the learning journey and an opportunity for students to reflect on their progress so far. We would like to wish all our students the very best of luck as they prepare and sit their exams.
Thank you once again for your support and partnership as we continue to guide and nurture our students together.
Blessings,
Alex
