Congratulations to all students on their participation in last week's Upper Kiewa Cluster Cross Country event! It was fantastic to see the high level of participation and student's behaviour on the day, which created such a positive atmosphere. A special mention to our podium place getters: Luca.M, Hughie. J, Harry.B, Summer, Channing, Charlie.B, Matilda.C, Erin, Eleanor, Isla, Gunner, Luca.F, Sam.W, Goldie, Archie, Xander, Harry.S, Gen, Luella, Queenie, Ferdi, Cleo and Poppy.
Congratulations also to our year 6 champions, Cleo and Ferdi!
Many thanks also to all the families who contributed by coming along to cheer on our students!
It has been a big week for running and in true dedication, many of our students and their families also participated in Saturday's Mount Beauty Running Festival! Congratulations to everyone on their achievement. As a result of their combined efforts, we are now proudly showcasing the trophy for the School's Marathon Challenge in our foyer!
Keeping with the running theme, we also wanted to acknowledge two of our mums, Duanne and Lisa, who ran in the 50 and 100km ultra-marathon in the Blue Mountains over the weekend! Both completed the course with in the allocated time to obtain silver medals!
This term's parent/teacher meetings will be held in Week 7, commencing Monday 2nd June. Bookings will be available via Compass, from next week.
Next week, students in Year 5 & 6 will be heading to Canberra on camp. The bus will be departing at 7.15am, so all students are asked to meet in the bus shelter at 6.45am. Medication forms have been sent home today, to all families whose children will/may require medication while on camp. Please ensure this form is completed and handed to Michelle or myself on the morning of camp, along with your child's medication.
Due to recent concerns being raised about children's safety in and around the staff carpark, we would ask that all families to please refrain from using the staff carpark at drop off and pick up times. Families are also asked to remind their children, if they are walking home, along Lakeside Avenue, that they should only cross at the school crossing and not at other points along the road. If bringing dogs to school, please help keep everyone safe, by ensuring that they are kept on a lead at all times.
Please note that Tuesday 10th June will be a pupil free day, to enable staff to undertake report writing. We hope that families are able to make the most of the extra long weekend. OSHC will be running for any families who require childcare, however bookings are essential.
Thanks to Alpine Health, a Wellness Workshop will be held in our multi-purpose building on Tuesday 17th June 4.30pm. You are invited to join Lee Couch for a free, 2 hour workshop incorporating breathwork and meditation, traditional weaving and a yarning circle.
