Demonstrating Strong Leadership skills
Prep Buddies
Over the 2 weeks the Grade 6 classes visited the Prep classrooms to engage in buddy activities for the first time in 2025. The buddy program is aimed at fostering leadership, empathy, and a sense of school community. The visit also provided an opportunity for younger students to develop confidence and social skills through interaction with their older peers.
The Grade 6’s were very excited to meet their buddies and beforehand wrote letters introducing themselves, on the day after a quick meet and greet the buddy partners got into it playing the classic counting game ‘Get out of my house.’ The Preps demonstrated excellent counting skills and the year 6’s displayed kindness, patience, and strong leadership skills. Overall the session was fun with both year 6’s and preps having a great time interacting with each other.
Literacy - Dystopian Prologues
In literacy last week we explored the genre of Dystopian Fiction. After looking at various Dystopian texts in reading, our goal for the week in writing was to plan and create our own Dystopian world and write a short prologue that explained the time date, briefly describe what went wrong and who or what now controls our dystopian world.
Here are 3 excellent dystopian prologues written by Ellie 6A, Jun 6E & Inaaya 6F
