K - Yr 6

Kindergarten

Religion Education

The children have been learning about being reverent when entering the Cathedral and how to genuflect when they reach their pew.

Father Damien visited Kindergarten to discuss items used during the Mass. The children enjoyed seeing his different coloured Vestments and some of the items placed on the Altar.

Mathematics

In Maths we are learning about addition.

Literacy

Mrs. Bournes' Literacy group acted out things they like doing on a rainy day in preparation for their Friday Big Write.

Week 7 we started learning how to do "Buddy Breakdowns" after our Big Write. We used a green highlighter to identify the punctuation our friend used in their writing.

Year 1

This term, Year 1 have been exploring how materials can change — bending, twisting, stretching, and more! Stay tuned as they put their new skills to the test by transforming everyday materials into creative fish sculptures. We can’t wait to share their fin-tastic creations with you!

In Reading, students have been working on reading stratgy chunking.

Year 2

Religion

Year 2 was grateful for the opportunity to have Father Damien explain to us after Mass about the different coloured vestments priests wear throughout the Church's Liturgical Year.

In Religion, we are learning about Moses leading the Israelites to Freedom.

Year 3

During our English lessons Year 3 performed their up-leveled version of our focus text 'The Coat' to the year group.

Year 3 worked together during our maths lesson to create arrays using their bodies. A maths equation would be displayed to the students and they had to work together to create an array that matched the equation.

Year 3 enjoyed the visit from the UNE Science bus.
