Kitchen Garden

It has been an exciting, fun and busy week in Kitchen Garden.  The students familiarised themselves with the new kitchen, learnt about table manners and creating delicious pancakes.

There were many jobs in the garden that were undertaken such as planting cabbage, watering, mulching, putting compost on the wicking beds, weeding and caring for the chickens.

It was lovely to have our first volunteer assist in the kitchen.  The Kitchen Garden Program relies on many people for it to work to its full potential and the volunteer body is one of the most important facets of the program.  I personally love getting to know members of our community and I know the students do too.  It is a wonderful way to get involved in our school community.

If you or anyone you know is able to assist in the garden or kitchen please email me (inger.furlong@education.vic.gov.au) or contact the office.

Kind regards,

Inger Furlong
