Welcome to Music at Skye PS!

For those new to Skye PS, I'm Mrs Murphy and I'll be teaching Music for 2023.

Previously to teaching Music I have been a classroom teacher at Skye PS teaching, 5/6, Grade 1 and Prep.

I'm very excited to be taking on this new adventure with the children at Skye PS.

Semester 1 will see the children from Prep-Grade 2 doing Music, then Semester 2 with see children from Grade 3-6 exploring!

Here's to a fun-filled year!

We have been enjoying ourselves down in the Music Room.

The children have really been getting involved and challenging themselves to step out of their comfort zones exploring different beats/rhythms, playing new instruments and learning new songs.

Week 1 saw Prep children taking on the role of 'Conductor' to direct their group of instruments using special hand signals.

The children loved exploring different untuned percussion playing them 'piano' and 'forte'.

Each Music class starts with a whole class dance to get our wriggles out. Some of our original favourites are 'Try Everything' and 'Better When I'm Dancing'.
