Swimming Carnival

The focus of the day is on fun and participation!!

EVENT DETAILS

Drop Off: 

Children in Years 2 - 6 are to go directly to the pool in the morning, ready to begin the carnival at 9am. 

Children in Kinder and Year 1 will attend school as normal, unless they are able to swim competitively and would like to participate in the 25m or 50m events.

Pick Up: 

All children need to be picked up from the pool by 2:45pm. 

Bus children will catch buses from Junee Public School and children can walk home from the pool if permission is given via Compass. 

We find the day can be quite exhausting for the younger children, so parents are able to pick them up earlier in the day if they wish.

Dress Code: 

Students are asked to wear their sports uniform as normal, with Goretti wearing yellow or Savio wearing green tops if they wish. Please ensure that your child’s clothes are clearly labelled. 

Water Competency Challenge: 

Children who wish to participate in the carnival that have not previously completed the challenge in the past, will be asked to complete a ‘Water Competency Challenge’ before the commencement of the carnival.

Please select the events that your child wishes to swim in via Compass.

If your child is not a competent swimmer and will not be competing in the swimming carnival, they will be able to swim in the program pool with teacher supervision at various times throughout the day. 

Cost: 

Children are to pay their $2 pool entry on arrival to the pool. 

Please note: This can not be paid by direct deposit to the school.

Pool Pass holders must have their number/pass with them.

WHAT TO BRING

Children will require: 

• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Swimmers
• Towel
• Goggles
• Lunch, Snacks and a Drink (pool canteen will be open as per above menu until stock sells out). Parents are more than welcome to deliver lunch to their children at around 12:30pm. 

Please ensure all items are labelled with your child’s name.

HELPERS

We will need some help with timekeeping on the day. It is a simple job and you will be shown what to do if you have not had the experience before.
