Assistant Principal's Report

Georgia Despotellis

I hope the summer holidays provided you with time to unwind and relax, and I hope you were able to enjoy the time off with family and friends. My husband and I managed to get away to Port Douglas and Cairns where we enjoyed some lovely sunny weather.

We’ve had a smooth start to the 2024 school year! It was very pleasing to see all our happy students and their families come through the school gates on Wednesday morning. It was also great to see some of our Prep students at school on Wednesday, as they attended their individual assessment interviews. Finally, on Thursday we welcomed all our new Prep students and their families for their first day of school.

A warm welcome also to our many new families and students who have started in other year levels - Welcome to Caulfield South Primary School!

Wednesday was also a milestone for our Year 6 students as it was their last first day of primary school! Students, families, and teachers gathered at the park to capture this important day and celebrated with cookies. I know the teachers enjoyed them!

It has been a pleasure to visit the classrooms and spend some time with the students this week. The classes are very settled and calm. Thank you to our teachers for preparing a great start to the school year.

It has been brought to my attention that some of the zips on the pencil cases that were included in the student's stationery packs are faulty. We are working with the supplier to rectify the problem.

Next week, the staff will be conducting ‘You Tell Us’ meetings with our parents to gain valuable insights that will support learning opportunities for the year ahead. If you have not booked a time to meet your child/ren’s teacher, please lock in a time via Compass.

I look forward to working productively with each of you, throughout the 2024 school year.
