YEAR 11 FAMILIES

WEEK 2: KEY INFORMATION

WEEK 2: KEY INFORMATION:

GREAT FIRST WEEK!

Week 1 was filled with enthusiasm and excitement as students eagerly reconnected with both peers and staff, exchanging stories of their holiday stories. I had the distinct pleasure of addressing the entire Year 11 cohort during our assembly, where we discussed pivotal events for the upcoming year and articulated collective goals for the future.

During this assembly, I underscored the significance of assuming leadership roles within SMCC, emphasising that as members of the senior cohort, students are now exemplars for their younger peers. We must collectively set a positive and inspiring example for the entire school community – including behaviour, uniforms and haircuts. For more information, please refer to last week’s bulletin.

LOCKS:

If you haven’t already, please ensure students have locks for their lockers. This will ensure an extra layer of security to ensure personal belongings are safe.

REMINDERS:

ACADEMIC ASSEMBLY

Date: Tuesday, 30 January

Uniform: Formal

Time: 9:40 am

Location: Hugh O'Brian Centre (HOB)

Audience: All parents/carers are welcome to attend.

Purpose: To acknowledge students' achievements from Term 4, 2023.

All students will need to be in formal uniform for Tuesday’s Academic Assembly. If Year 11 students have HPE or Sport later that day, they will need to bring either their sport or house uniform.

STUDENT DIARIES

Students are required to use their diaries to record homework, assessment and essential communication between home and school. This is an excellent location for parent notes regarding homework difficulties, change of uniform, lateness or early departure from school. We ask you to please communicate these notes in the College diary.

MOBILE PHONE POLICY

Mobile phones can only be accessed in the first ten minutes of each break, at student's locker. Phones are then locked away for the remainder of the school day. If students wish to purchase food from the Tuckshop, they will need to use either cash or their physical debit card.
