Welcome Back Communication

If you have not already done so, we encourage all parents to read the Welcome Back Communication as it contains helpful information which will assist with your preparation for the school year.

'Meet the Teacher'

As advised in the Welcome Back Communication / Primary News, we look forward to you joining us for our ‘Meet the Teacher’ information afternoon which is scheduled for Monday 29 January. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's class and specialist teachers, familiarise yourself with classroom procedures and hear all about the exciting learning opportunities for the year ahead. In addition, timetables, expectations, curriculum matters, and daily routines will be explained, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions you may have. You will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the learning your child will experience this year and I therefore encourage you to attend. If you are unable to attend, teachers will email home information discussed.

Pre-Prep to Year 12 School Photos & Optional Sibling Photos

Monday 29 January

As advised in the Welcome Back Communication, Primary School class and individual photographs and Pre-Prep - Year 12 House photos will take place on Monday 29 January. All students are to wear their full formal school summer uniform on this day. If students have HPE, please bring your HPE gear to change into after the photos. This information will also be provided via the App.

Students not in the correct formal school summer uniform will not be in the photos.

Sibling Photo: An offering from Studio Kirby is for parents to have a sibling photo taken. These are scheduled before school from 7:15am - 8:15am in the Assembly Hall. Primary students must be accompanied by an adult or responsible Secondary School sibling, as no supervision is provided. 

Ordering: On Thursday 25 January, every student Pre-Prep to Year 12 will bring home a Studio Kirby Flyer which contains the student’s unique ID Number which will be required for ordering. Attached to the flyer will be a yellow slip for sibling photos which you are asked to bring with you. You may still attend for sibling photos if you do not have this slip with you.

Parent/Student Details Update & Student Permissions/Agreement

With reference to the Welcome Back Communication / Primary News, may we please remind you of the following annual requirement which is to be actioned in Parent Lounge for all returning students Prep to Year 12.

For new families who have commenced this year, both requirements have been completed through your enrolment process and therefore no action is required by you.

Primary School Interhouse Swimming Carnival (Years 2 to 6)

In Week 3, on Tuesday 6 February, we look forward to parents joining us for Years 2 to 6 Primary Interhouse Swimming Carnival. Further information regarding this event will be communicated in the Sports Section of the Collective and via the CC App.

Student Absence Throughout the Day

If a student needs to attend an appointment or leave the College for any other reason, we kindly ask parents to please notify Student Services. All students are required to sign out (Secondary and Primary). Parents are to park in Circular Drive and sign out the student in person.

Flexi-School Student Details Update

If you have not already done so, please update your child/ren’s year level in Flexi-School to ensure their tuckshop is received correctly.

Circular Drive Vehicle Family Name Tag for Afternoon Collection

In Week 2, new families will receive a Family Name Tag for your vehicle which is to be displayed in the afternoon when collecting your child/ren from Circular Drive.

For any other families who require a new tag please send an email request to Mrs Lisa Sutherland in Primary Admin – lsutherland@clayfield.qld.edu.au
