Penguin Parade: WYPS Art Shines at Australian Antarctic Festival!
Dear WYPS Community,
We have some exciting news to share! Our talented 5/6 students’ artwork took centre stage at the Australian Antarctic Festival, which ran from August 22nd to 25th. Their incredible penguin creations were a highlight of the festival, which attracted over 20,000 visitors!
Our penguin colony, along with colonies from schools all around Australia, showcased in the MAC02 exhibit in Hobart. They were not just part of the event—they became an iconic feature that caught the eye of festival-goers. The unique and imaginative designs truly captured the spirit of the Antarctic Festival and the creativity of our students.
We are thrilled to announce that all the penguins have safely returned to Woori Yallock Primary School, and we are excited to share the photos of their amazing work with you. Please see the attached images to see the fabulous art that made our school so proud. The penguins will be put on display in the school, so keep your eye out for them!
Participating in the Australian Antarctic Festival was an incredible experience for our students, and it’s wonderful to see their hard work and creativity celebrated on such a grand stage. A big thank you to everyone who supported this fantastic opportunity for our young artists!
Art Show
The Art show was a huge success and it’s all thanks to you! The walls were bursting with colour, creativity, and the brilliance of our young artists. I couldn’t be prouder of the fantastic artwork on display and the excitement that it brought to our students.
A huge shoutout to all the families who came out to support our budding Picassos and Van Goughs. You made the show truly unforgettable. Seeing the pride on each student’s face as they shared their masterpieces with you was priceless.
I hope you enjoyed every moment and left feeling inspired.
Thanks for making the Art Show a memorable occasion and for cheering on our incredible young artists!
