Joshua's Remarkable Return to Taekwondo
Joshua Soh (Year 9) has shown incredible resilience and determination over the past six months, undergoing an extensive period of rest and rehabilitation following a back injury, and he has come back stronger than ever.
This past weekend he achieved a significant milestone by winning the State Championship in Taekwondo for his category. His hard work and dedication have truly paid off, showcasing his perseverance and commitment to excellence.
Looking ahead, Joshua will compete in the National Championships in November. Good luck Joshua!
Matthew Takes Gold at World Championships
A huge congratulations to Matthew Williams (Year 8) who travelled to New Zealand during the mid-year holidays to represent Australia in artistic roller skating. He competed for Australia in the World Skate Oceania Championships against teams from New Zealand, Japan, Chinese Taipei and India.
Matthew competed in the Cadet grade with two routines: one style dance (Rhumba/Latin Medley) and one free dance featuring orchestral music from The Legend of Zelda.
His performance earned Matthew a personal best for the year, taking out the gold medal for the Men’s Cadet event and contributing to the Australian team winning the Cadet category overall.

Isabella Secures Golf Wins and Prepares for International Tournament
Isabella Leniartek (Year 10) competed in numerous golf tournaments during the recent school holidays and the first half of Term 3. Over the holidays she won the 2024 Western Australian Junior Championships with scores of 72 and 71, finishing 1 under par and winning by 13 shots. Isabella also claimed victory at the 2024 Cobra Puma Championships, winning by 8 shots.
More recently, she competed in the Cottesloe Junior Open, winning with a score of 72 (even par).
These achievements have earned Isabella a place representing Golf WA at this year’s Jack Newton International Junior Classic in NSW in October.
Ms Makinson's Artwork Selected for Hue & Cry Art Awards 2024
Junior School Art Teacher Ms Kirsten Makinson's artwork has been selected to exhibit in the Hue & Cry Art Awards 2024 in Geelong, Victoria. The artwork 'Untitled' (Mixed media on canvas) is a self-portrait exploring the accumulation of memories and identity over time, using a process of layered drawings on tissue paper.
The artwork will exhibit in the Hue & Cry Gallery in Geelong, Victoria from 31 August to 21 September. Congratulations Ms Makinson!

Big Win for The Little Prince
Congratulations to those involved in the production of The Little Prince, which won Best Production (Musicals & Opera) at the 2024 Performing Arts WA (PAWA) Awards. We're incredibly proud of the three ASC students who took part in the production: Camille Alonso (Year 7), who played the lead; Alaia Torralbo Straton (Year 8), who played a rose and was in the chorus; and Arielle Lu (Year 6), who was also in the chorus.
This production also won several other industry awards, including Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Musical Direction.
