PBL - Positive Behaviour For Learning
Over the past few weeks the weekly PBL lessons have covered behaviour expectations that fall under the value of Respect.
The important details from the lessons were:
I respect the property of school, others and myself
- By respecting property, it can remain safe for other people to use
- We can have pride in our workspaces and the environment
- Help us to be organised and learn
- Respect for the boundaries of other people
I listen when others are speaking
- By listening when others are speaking it shows that we are engaged.
- By listening it helps us to understand our learning with better awareness.
- By listening it improves communication and helps to build positive relationships.
I use kind words and actions
- By using kind words and actions we are showing respect to others
- We can show others how we wish to be treated
- Helps us and others to have a positive experience at school
- Encourages positive actions and words from others
Students continue to earn Dojo points when they correctly and consistently show the desired behaviour expectations. Don’t forget that at each school assembly there will be a PBL raffle drawn, where all students who received Dojo points over that fortnight will go into a pool; the lucky winner will receive a certificate and will be able to wear casual clothes to school the next day.
Please continue to check in with your child and ask them about the weekly PBL lesson and what the behaviour expectation is. Discuss ways that they can live out that behaviour expectation and give examples of what it looks like to help create a more positive and engaging learning environment for them and all other students and people who belong to the St Peter’s community.
