The Assumption of Mary is a sign of consolation and sure hope for all of us.

RE Integrated with Art , students were guided by: Mrs Longano our talented Art Teacher

The Assumption of Our Lady, also known as the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a significant event in Catholic Tradition. It commemorates the belief that the Virgin Mary, at the end of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into Heaven.

Gospel Reading

John -6:41-51

Jesus responds to the murmurs of the crowd, who wonders what he means when he says that he came down from heaven.

Prayer is a conversation with God. God calls us to prayer, and he always hears our prayers. We can talk to him whenever we want, as often as we want. When we pray, we also listen. Listening helps us get to know ourselves better in our relationship with God. It also helps us discover the many ways God is speaking to us every day.

Jesus said that when we listen to God the Father and learn from him, we know that Jesus is truly the Son of God, and we believe in him. Jesus is the Bread of Life. He is truly present to us in the Eucharist, the consecrated bread and wine that become the Body and Blood of Jesus given to us so that we may live more like him every day as we follow him on the road to heaven.

Dear Parents/ Carers,

On Sunday, 25th August, the students from Grades 1T and 2R  are rostered to participate at the 9.00am Parish Mass at St Peter’s Catholic Church. All students from these grades are invited to attend with their families, you do not have to be Catholic to participate. We would love to see all students and their families present.

The students will be involved in a variety of jobs prior to Mass and after Mass so it is important that they are present by 8:50 am.  Families are invited to bring a plate of morning tea to share with parishioners and friends. Please bring the shared morning tea on a disposable plate or in a clearly marked container to the parish hall before 9.00am. We ask no food containing nuts be brought.

Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers who have agreed to coordinate morning tea for us:

This is a wonderful initiative to build partnerships between the families and students of St Peter’s Primary School with the parishioners of St Peter’s Parish Church. It is also a school expectation which is a part of our curriculum and brings us together as a Parish and School Community. It is an expectation that parents are with their children during the Mass.

Kind regards,

Mrs Russell, Mr Tran and Mrs DeVisser
