Class 3 News

LOLA KD

Dear Class 3 Parents and Carers,

We are well into our Shelters Main Lesson, learning about and appreciating the role our homes have for us, and how cultures around the world shape their shelters from the earth around them. We spent our first week building on what Janine has been teaching us in Arrernte lessons about different shelters in Central Australia.

Next term, the children do their individual shelter projects. I will send home information about this before term ends and your child can get working on them after that.

We will continue on this learning in the term as we do our building project. The children have started drawing sandpit designs, taking into account the shade at morning tea time and lunch, when the sandpit will be used the most.

In the garden, the grains we planted earlier in the year are long, vibrant and healthy looking! Have a look at them at drop-off or pick-up when you get a chance.

As you are reading this, the children will be getting ready to sleep under the stars after a day exploring the Date Farm and a yummy, warm dinner with friends. We are looking forward to sharing our adventures with you when we return.

Warmly,

Lola
