MACSSIS is a low impact, high return set of tools for creating, collecting, analysing, interpreting and using data to inform Catholic school improvement. MACSSIS produces perception data. This data tells us about what different people in a school community think and feel about their learning environment.
The surveys have been designed in alignment with Horizons of Hope: Vision and Context and the School Improvement Framework (SIF) Rubric capabilities, and gather data from:
Survey questions cover several domains, which vary across the student, family and staff datasets.
The Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) School Effectiveness team, in close consultation with the MACS Learning Services team, Principal Reference Group and School Improvement Working Party, as well as external consultants at Learning First, developed the surveys.
Digital survey and data delivery for MACSSIS is provided by our platform provider ORIMA Research, who create online portals for each school. Surveys are 100 per cent digital, secure and available in a range of languages for families.
St Michael's views MACSSIS as a positive opportunity for gathering feedback and engaging communities in ongoing school improvement efforts.
Families will receive instructions on how to take part in the MACSSIS survey in the following weeks, via email.
Students (years 4 - 6) and staff will complete the survey at school.
Families who complete the survey will receive a special treat for their child/children. They will need to send a receipt screen shot of the screen confirming completion to: eellis@smashburton.catholic.edu.au to gain entry in to the draw.
