Celebrating NAIDOC Week

Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud

This year, the National NAIDOC Committee selected the powerful theme, Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud. This theme pays tribute to First Nations culture's enduring strength and vitality, with fire symbolising the deep connection to Country, community, and the rich traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our NAIDOC Week celebrations were truly special, driven by the voices and ideas of our Marrung students who shaped how we celebrated as a school. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support and enthusiasm of our staff. Many people contributed to making the week such a success and the ‘Kick Like Buddy’ and ‘Shoot Like Patty’ competitions were standout events, along with prizes for the winners.

By Friday afternoon, the joy and pride were palpable as students headed into the weekend after a very successful and proud first week of term. Continuing to foster and build strong connections for our Marrung students across all areas of the school is vital to supporting their engagement and success. Thank you to our school community for your continued commitment to showing up and Keeping the Fire Burning.
