Acting Principal Report
Catherine Gilchriest
Dear Parents/carers, students, and families,
I hope this edition of the College newsletter finds you well.
David wrote to you at the beginning of the term to let you know that he was returning to a School Education Improvement Leader (SEIL) role in the Bayside area. He will continue in this role until the end of the school year.
Whilst on leave from the school I will continue in the Acting Principal role, with Marney McLean taking on my role, Rick Taig covering Marney’s role and Ashley Fitzpatrick covering Rick’s role. These changes were put in place to ensure the smooth continuation of the school year. Thank you to all members of our college community for continuing to support me during this time.
Thank you to families who have already completed the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. This survey will remain open until September 30. Check your email for the link if you would like to complete the survey.
The School Saving Bonus will be available to all families in 2025. Please ensure that your contact details are correct on Compass, specifically your email address as this is how communications will be shared by the Department of Education. I will provide further information in the next newsletter.
Over the next few weeks students in years 7-10 will be completing their term 3 CATs. Year 10 students will be heading off to Tasmania Camp in the last week of term. Year 9 students will continue their city experience. During this time, year 12 students will be undertaking their final assessments before many begin their end-of-year exams.
Communication will be shared soon regarding Learner Conferences that will take place on October 9. This version of Learner Conferences will be a hybrid model to support both face-to-face and online meetings. We look forward to families engaging in the conferences with their child/ren.
As always, we appreciate your continued support and understanding. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our administration office.
