Community Announcements

OUR DAREBIN

In 2021, we joined forces with our community to develop Darebin’s 20-year Community Vision, Council Plan 2021-25 (incorporating our Health and Wellbeing Plan), and other important forward-looking strategies.

In 2024, we’re reviewing the Vision to ensure it continues to reflect your priorities for Darebin.

We're also creating our next four-year Council Plan - our promise to the Darebin community. With a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing, this plan will be shaped by your priorities, needs, and values, and will guide our long-term financial planning.

Economic pressures impacting Council's financial sustainability mean we must ensure we deliver the projects and priorities that matter most to our community, while managing our budget responsibly.

TheirCare

A big thank you to all the students who are constantly demonstrating excellent values, manners and behaviours around the school😊

Wales Street Primary School is a Great place to be, fantastic environment with amazing teachers and students. Thank you for all your help and support in working alongside OSCH at TheirCare.

A big welcome to the many new children and families who have joined TheirCare. We hope your time with us is a peaceful and enjoyable one.

We are half-way through the term with spring season not so far away….a time for new growth and beginnings. The weeks ahead will include the opportunity for children to join in the “Mad Potters, Gardening Club” where hands on planting and activities, such as Apple tasting and garden journal’s, Garden Science experiments, Garden to plate and more. Our cooking experiences have been popular and will continue through the term also. A focus on GOAL setting too, helping children reach achievable goals of interest.

TheirCare – Children are incredibly creative and energetic, constantly discovering new ways to express their interest’s. Preparing cooking experiences have been a great opportunity for children to learn and develop their senses in sight, smell, taste and touch.

The smell of freshly baked Muesli Bars…..delish. Building inventive creations, although in reality the creation may be undone as there are only so many days it can remain tucked away at the office away from prying eyes and hands….the mindset, inventiveness, focus and diligence to complete a project from start to finish, impressive…..or the burst of colour, creative arts always in action with many varying methods and resources to express the creative ideas, developing eye and hand co-ordination, meditative, therapeutic indeed Picasso or not!😊 For the many active children who love to run, skip or kick a ball…kicking goals, breathing fresh air, definitely health plus and relaxing way to keep ourselves in check.

Just a friendly reminder TheirCare program, children are NOT permitted to use devices including Ipads.
