Book Week

Library Notes

Book Week is coming to Wales St PS next week – Week 7, beginning Monday 26 August.

We will celebrate in Library classes and Library Club. We will vote for our favourite picture story book and compare the results with the Adult CBCA judges and the Junior shadow judges.

On Tuesday 27 August we will enjoy a Book character dress-up day and weather dependent, gather on the oval to watch the parade of book characters just after morning roll call. Wet weather means we will probably parade in year level areas.

On Wednesday morning, 28 August, Foundation, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will have an author visit from Antoinette Pellegrini. She will be reading her book, Sandcastles: A Story About Our Connected World, and talking about how she wrote the book.

There is an order form below to use if you would like to order a paperback copy of this book and receive it when she visits. Antoinette will be signing these copies on the day. Payment can be made by cash and order form in an envelope (hand to Lisa in the Office) or by Direct debit or Credit card as per the order form below.

On Thursday 29th August, there will be a

Pop–up Second-hand Book stall

supporting the Indigenous Literacy Foundation

Thursday first half of lunch in the HUB.

Bring a gold coin donation and grab up to 5 books. One “as new” book per bundle!
