Exhibition Expert Parent Panel
This term our Grade 6 students have commenced their Exhibition journey. Our transdisciplinary theme this year is ‘How the World Works.’ Our central idea is, "Scientific understanding, discoveries, and inventions enhance our world." Each student has chosen a group based on a shared interest, allowing them to dive deep into topics that resonate with their curiosity and passion.
The IB Primary Years Program exhibition represents a significant event in a child’s life as a PYP student, combining the essential elements of the PYP and sharing them with the community. It is an opportunity for children to exhibit attributes of the ‘Learner Profile’ and the ‘Approaches to Learning’. The exhibition is a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process that involves identifying, investigating and offering solutions to real-life issues or problems. The learning is celebrated by presenting their inquiry to the school community.
As part of the Grade 6 Exhibition, our students are encouraged to contact a primary source to interview for their research. A primary source helps students relate in a personal way to their exhibition topic and promotes a deeper understanding and different perspectives.
We would like to thank all the parents who attended our parent panel on Tuesday the 13th of August. We thank our parents for their participation in our volunteer expert panel. Your contributions were valuable to our students' understanding. You inspired our students to think of different perspectives and take action.
The students believed this panel was a huge success and we have embedded this program as part of our Exhibition journey. We are once again grateful and appreciated all your amazing knowledge, experiences, and time dedicated to giving back to our Wales Street students.
Kind regards,
Luisa Kalenjuk
