$400 School Saving Bonus

Dear parents/carers, 

As you may be aware, the Victorian State Government has announced the $400 School Saving Bonus for all families with children enrolled in Prep to Year 12 in 2025. 

The key points to note regarding the $400 School Bonus Saving are:

  • The School Saving Bonus is not available for full-fee international students, home schooled students, TAFE students and students attending kindergarten in 2025. 
  • Your child/children must be enrolled at school by the 18th of October 2024. To ensure that enrolments are processed by this date, the deadline for new enrolments for 2025 is Friday the 20th of September, 2024.
  • Families do not need to apply for this - it is automatically paid for each enrolled child.
  • This amount will be paid directly to and managed by our school.
  • Families can choose how they want to spend the School Saving Bonus.

It can be used towards 2025 school costs, which may include: 

  • camps, trips, excursions and incursions 
  • swimming and sporting programs 
  • outdoor education programs 
  • graduations
  • school uniforms
  • textbooks
  • The School Saving Bonus will be in addition to existing and continuing means-tested supports for Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) and the Affordable School Uniforms Program.

Important: 

To ensure you receive this payment, all parents must do the following:

  1. Check your contact information is current and up to date on COMPASS by the18th of October 2024. This includes your residential address, email address and phone number. 

 

Note: Parents can either update this information directly on COMPASS or email the school at dohertys.creek.p9.co@education.vic.gov.au .

 

This is important as the Department of Education will email you twice:

  • in October, to verify your email address
  • in November, with information on how to access your $400 School Saving Bonus.

Please check your junk mail regularly to make sure you do not miss an important email.

  1. Ensure your child/children are enrolled at Dohertys Creek P-9 College for 2025. 

If you have a sibling starting Prep in 2025 that you have not yet enrolled or know of families intending to transfer to Dohertys Creek P-9 College that have not yet enrolled, please inform them that enrolments must be submitted to Dohertys Creek P-9 College by 20th September 2024.

 

OR 

 

If your child is leaving Dohertys Creek P-9 College and transferring to a new school in 2025, you must ensure that you have notified Dohertys Creek P-9 College and enrolled at your child’s 2025 school by the 18th of October 2024.
