AFLW Excursion!

On Tuesday 13th August, a group of 29 excited girls from Year 3 and 4 attended a special event held by AFLW at Marvel Stadium. 

Everyone arrived at school bright and early, ready to jump on the bus at 8am, decked out in our favourite footy colours. 

When we arrived at Marvel, we walked out onto the ground with paparazzi snapping photos of us, ready to get into the event.

We got to meet and greet AFLW superstars Erin Phillips and Moana Hope, and get involved in some fun skills sessions. We had our faces painted, we wrote our hopes and dreams on a footy, and kicked it through the goals on the ground. Some of us even got some kicking tips from Erin Phillips!

We listened to Erin and Moana speak about their lives growing up, and talk about how footy has changed for lots of girls. They were so inspiring! We were lucky enough to get our t-shirts signed at the end of the session, and we got a huge group photo with the AFLW Premiership Cup!

We would love to thank Harper’s dad, Ben, for giving us this great opportunity. It was such a great day!

Reminder - Year 6 - Indoor Games Action Team 

Hi APS,

We are the Indoor Games Action team and we have created a Gym Club where year levels can play in the gym at lunch times on Tuesday. 

First we need your help! Along with running fun physical activities for year levels we would like to provide sideline activities for people who might like different games.

For our sideline activities we are kindly asking for donations such as board and card games. There will be a donation box at the front office. We are hoping to collect donations over the next 3 weeks so we can start our club in week 4.

We will also be sending a google form out to teachers to gather data about what types of active games year levels would like us to run. For example basketball, netball, tiggy and dodgeball. 

Thank you for your support. We are looking forward to starting Gym Club in week 4!
