Bookweek
From 26 to 29 August, the students celebrated Book Week. One of the purposes is to highlight the importance of reading. This year's theme was Escape, Explore, Encounter. It was a week filled with many activities for students to participate in and celebrate everything about books:
Monday 26 August: Poetry Slam and Bookmark Making
- Mrs Cerbus ran a Poetry Slam for the Secondary students. The winners are Mia-Maree Hart (1st place), Sarah Simko (2nd place), Hannah Thomson (3rd place).
- At lunchtime, some Year 11 and 12 students ran a bookmark marking session for Primary students.
Tuesday 27 August: Bake Sale at recess
Wednesday 28 August: Where’s Wally? and Sausage Sizzle
- During Primary assembly, the prefects ran a Where’s Wally? game. The winners got chocolate (nut-free) prizes.
- The students enjoyed a Sausage Sizzle at lunchtime.
Thursday 29 August: Whole School Dress Up Day
Our annual book week dress-up took place on Thursday 29 August. All students dressed as their favourite book characters and participated in a book parade during assembly. The best dressed in each class were announced.
The Creative Response Competition for Middle/Upper Primary and Secondary Students. The winners are:

Throughout the week in-school celebrities read in the Primary library during recess.
