7 - 12 Assistant Principal's update

Mitch Coombs - Year 7 - 12 Assistant Principal

Dear students, parents and guardians,

Welcome back to school – it has been great to see all our students return to the classroom this week. It has been an amazing week with students meeting their teaching staff, establishing new routines and creating new relationships, many of which will last them well into adulthood.

It was particularly pleasing to see our new Year 7s begin their secondary education journey.  The students (and many of their parents and guardians) were a mix of nerves and excitement, but it was great to see this subside and turn very quickly into feelings of comfort as their first day program rolled out and the opportunities that Kyabram P-12 College can offer them were presented.

A huge thank you to the parents and guardians who attended, and for all the staff who put it together and helped make it the success it was.

At the other end of the spectrum, our Year 12 students were setting the standard to all within the College through their dedication to their studies and their pursuit of their individual goals.  Their focus and drive will undoubtedly only improve as the year goes on and I hope you’ll all join me in wishing them all the best for a massive year.

It was also great when walking around the school to see so much engaging learning occurring at all levels and I have no doubt that our students will experience excellent educational growth throughout the year, under the tutelage of the exceptional teaching and support staff within the school.

I would also like to welcome our captains, Huon, Marissa, Michael and Angus as they lead the student body through the year. I look forward to collaborating with them and other student leaders as we work together to continue improving Kyabram P-12 College into the best possible educational institution that we can.

As a few final notes;

A reminder that attendance at school and being on time for school every day is really important for your child’s education. If your student is not able to attend, please notify the office at your earliest convenience.

Full school uniform is expected, but if assistance in this matter is required, please contact the College office.

Phones are banned in Victorian Government schools, and we appreciate your support in this matter.

My very best wishes to you all for 2024.

Mitch Coombs

7-12 Assistant Principal
