NAPLAN 2024

NAPLAN will again be held in Term One this year for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Testing will take place during lesson time and commence on Wednesday 13th March, with writing for all year groups. Students will sit assessments in writing, reading, language conventions and numeracy

Our Year 3 and 5 students will use the classroom IT resources.  Our Year 7 and 9 students will complete the testing on their own laptops. It is therefore extremely important that students in Year 7 and 9 charge their laptop at home every night of the testing window. Year 7 and 9 students also need to ensure that they have their own set of working headphones in order to complete elements of the testing.

Below is a link to the 2024 NAPLAN Information for Parents and Carers Brochure. Please take the time to read through this prior to the testing commencing. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact myself or your child’s class teacher.

Study Support: Year 7-11

Our study support sessions have been up and running for the last fortnight. Sessions take place at lunchtime on a Tuesday, and lunchtime and after school until 4.30pm on a Thursday

These sessions are a great opportunity for our students to consolidate their learning and gain extra support from their teachers.

A more detailed timetable is available for all students via the Daily Messages

facility in SIMON.

Time Management and Study Skills for VCE and VCE VM

As our students have started on their senior studies in 2024 there is an increased expectation on work to be revised and completed at home. This allows for students to consolidate their understanding of topics and complete additional research or application questions. In 2023 our current Year 11 students were fortunate enough to receive study skills and time management sessions from Elevate Education. The presenters discussed time management at a senior education level, giving insight into how to manage study, part time employment and sporting/family /social commitments. They also gave our Year 11’s tips on ‘smart’ study techniques that have been proven to help in Year 11 and 12. These techniques and tips will become increasingly important to revisit and implement as our students move through the next two years.
