SWPBS

Creating Harmony at Mitcham Primary School (CHAMPS) is our start of year, week long program designed to build connections between students in classes and across cohorts. They introduce students to;

• school values
• positive behaviour expectations
• mindset to learning
• recognising themselves as their own hero!

There has been such an exciting buzz around our school seeing our students make strong, positive connections with their classmates and teachers beginning from Prep, all the way to Grade 6! 

All students created their classroom door display, to signify the ownership they all have within the classroom. Along with this, students participated in a school tour where they learned and revised the expected behaviours in all our various school settings!

Students created their own ‘personal project’, which showcased their strengths, and built their understanding of their emotions. Finally, they worked with their peers to learn about giving and receiving feedback, and spent time getting to know all teachers and students in their cohort.

What a fabulous and positive way to start 2024 with strong bonds and ownerships our students have to their school and classroom community!
