Friday, February 23rd, as we will celebrate the Chinese New Year - the Year of the Dragon, with a series of engaging cultural activities. Students are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by dressing in red attire or traditional Chinese costumes.

Star Students

Foundation: Dakota - Giving everything a go and having a wonderful first day in Foundation.

Year 1/2: Sophie - Having a positive and can-do attitude towards all her classes.

Year 3/4: Delilah - For trying her best and being an active learner to begin the year. Great work Delilah

Year 5/6: Lacey - For displaying all parts of the Charlton College School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS).

Book recommendation

Noah recommended the book Dog Man Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea by Dav Pilkey at assembly on Monday. He reported that Dog Man Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea is a comical, adventure, picture book about Dog man and many others trying to save the world from fleas. It is set in different locations such as prison, the beach and under the sea. Noah rates it 5 stars and recommends it to students in Year 1+.

Name It PLEASE!

Please name all clothing clearly as it helps us reunite missing items to its owner.  We generally get a good collection of lunch containers – names on these are also useful.

Reminder: Student Drinkers!

A friendly reminder to all parents/guardians to please ensure all students are bringing their drink bottles to school. With the warm weather continuing on this week, it is important that all students remain hydrated and have access to a drinker to limit interruptions in class.

Badge Conferral

Congratulations to all students who were acknowledged at Fridays badge conferral. It is an excellent achievement, and we know you will all do an amazing job in your roles.

Monday Morning Assembly

On Monday at assembly the Year 1/2 students performed the actions to the model text ‘Kassim and the Hungry Fox’. Students have been using this text to study journey tales with a focus on description. The students have been learning by using a text map and the actions so that they can internalise the language structures that they need to write their own narratives.
