2024 Student Leadership

Our Student Leadership Induction Assembly was held on Monday, February 26th. The assembly was a momentous occasion where our new student leaders were officially introduced to the school community and awarded their badges.

Thank-you to all the families and special guests who attended the event. A special mention goes to Peter Neaves, our School Council President, and Councillor Carolyn Crossley, whose attendance added significance to the event.

Our 2024 Student Leadership Team has kicked off the year with enthusiasm and a strong commitment to enhancing the student experience at Maffra SC. Their dedication is evident as they embark on a journey to amplify student voice and agency across all facets of our school community.

Next week marks an exciting milestone as we gear up for our Student Leadership Day. This event promises to be a positive experience where our student leaders will hone their collaborative skills and learn how to influence positive change within our school community.

We look forward to seeing and experiencing the activities, fundraisers, and initiatives that are implemented throughout the year. Their passion and vision will undoubtedly shape a brighter future for Maffra SC.

The Student Leadership Team would also like to remind students that they are all invited to come along to a Student Team Meeting, which are held fortnightly in Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 each Term. Meetings held for the following teams: Year 7/8, Year 9, Senior Years, Arts, Diversity and Environment.

These meetings are held at lunchtime on the following days:

Monday – Year 7 & 8 in Talmaru (includes Year 7 & 8 form group leaders)

Tuesday – Senior Years  in Talmaru

Thursday – Year 9 in Room A5

Thursday – Diversity in Talmaru

Friday – Environment in Talmaru

Friday – Arts in Room A5

The discussions and ideas shared in these meetings are then shared with the Student Leadership Team when they meet Tuesday lunchtimes on the alternate weeks (Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8). So, there are lots of opportunities for students to help make a difference!
