Term 1 Week 4
For Terms 1 and 2 this year we welcome our senior students into the Art room. We are very lucky to be sharing the Grade 4 space while our old admin building is being transformed into a fabulous new space for Art and Japanese. We have had a really positive start with our grade 5 and 6 students, they have showed great enthusiasm learning about shoe designer Tinker Hatfield and they have started creating their own shoe design sketches. Watch this space for some of the finished products. Our grade 3 and 4 students have shown amazing creativity sketching ideas for their 3D paper symbols. They are going to look so bright and colourful hanging around our school.
The past fortnight has seen the Music Room buzzing with giggles, smiles and colourful scarves!
We pretended our rainbow scarves were helicopter blades spinning around. The scarves also turned into popcorn popping around the room and were a genuine source of smiles and happiness. There were a few fashion shows cat walking with the scarves too!
The Prep - 2 children have LOVED moving around the room (and basketball court) to different music including the 'Fast & Slow' song and the 'Waltz of the Flowers'. The Waltz of the Flowers was a HUGE hit thanks to the 'Ice-cream' episode of Bluey.
Year 1 & 2 children followed a listening map to the 'Carnival of the Animals - Aquarium' song. They used their scarves to follow the map and move their bodies to their music.
It has been a delightful week exploring with our scarves, an Instagram reel will be posted to the Skye PS page filled with colourful scarves and smiles.
