Student background characteristics data collection

Today we are sending home the Family details - National Goals for Schooling Data Collection sheets to our families who are missing details (ie the highlighted section/s only) from their original enrolment information.

We would also appreciate it if all families could send in (via email) their employers name/company name to help to make this an accurate collection for 2024.

The nationally agreed student background characteristics data collection is now open.  The following details are collected:

  • Basic Details tab / Personal Information box (Students only)
    • Date of Birth
    • Gender
  • Demographics tab / Occupation Details box (Parents/Guardians/Carer only)
    • Occupation
    • Employer
    • Occupational Group
    • Highest School Education
    • Highest Qualification
  • Demographics tab / Additional Details box
    • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Status - Students only
    • Languages -
    • Language Background Other Than English

Student background characteristics are collected for all students for the purposes of:

  • Reporting student background and school level information on My School
  • Determining Australian Government funding loadings
  • National reporting of the results of the National Assessment Program
  • Reporting student background data in the National Schools Statistics Collection.

Attendance

Please remember to explain your child's absence within 7 days.  This is a legal requirement and already this year we have had to send paper notes out to parents as they are over the 7 day requirements.  It is so much easier if you access Compass on the day and fill in the absent note section.

Morning drop off

Please remember that the routine in the morning is to drop your child at the front gate. If you need to come in to the school grounds you must sign in on the kiosk in the front office and then sign out again when you leave the grounds.

Afternoon Travel Arrangements

Please notify the school by email before 2pm of your child's travel changes. In an emergency you can call the office after this time.

Return and Earn is back for our school!

Michelle Cortis is coordinating the 2024 Return and Earn for our school.  This will happen every Wednesday (Sports Day).  This fundraiser was a huge success in 2022 so we hope to have the same result for 2024.

Students Writing Competition

The 2024 Students As Authors Writing Competition is now open. The theme is Future Worlds. This will be done in class.

The competition is designed to give students an authentic purpose and audience for their writing and provide an opportunity to showcase the writing talents of our students. Please support students to enter their work. The competition will close June 14th.

ACTIVITIES LEVY

The activities levy of $70/student can be paid in total or through a payment plan in CompassPay.  If you sign up to the payment plan of two instalments of $35, one due on Monday, 8th April, and the other on Monday, 24th June 2024 you will have to make sure your credit card has not expired and that there are enough funds available to debit the charge on the day.

This levy alleviates the need to pay small amounts throughout the year.  It will cover buses for swimming, athletics and cross country, pool entry, visiting performers/shows and a portion of the transport for a specialist music teacher. This does not include major excursions, Mothers/Fathers Day gifts, Year 6 Big Day Out, or Diocesan sport as these are user pay activities.   All students are expected to pay this levy.

SWAP Shop

We would love some more girls uniforms for our SWAP shop.  If you have any uniforms that you no longer need, please drop them in to the front office and we will add them to the cupboard.
