Talk 4 Writing

Pre-Primary Red

In Pre-Primary, the children have been focusing on two texts:

1.  Polly Put The Kettle On
2.  Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

They had had lots of opportunities to plat and act out these nursery rhymes.

Pre-Primary Grey

In Pre-Primary Grey, our Talk for Writing 'hook' for five little ducks involved introducing the story by engaging children in a sensory experience, using props such as toy ducks and creating a pond scene with blue fabric and wooden spoon puppets.

Year Two

In Year 2, our first Talk 4 Writing text for the year is "The Papaya that Spoke".

Students had the opportunity to brainstorm the image of Mr Hagen with a Papaya. Some of the guesses were

• Mango
• Banana
• Avocado
• Rock melon

Students have begun to story map and use actions to retell the story. We have been having lots of fun in Talk 4 Writing.
