A Message from the Principal

Dear Parents and Carergivers

This week we have held our Secondary and Junior School Swimming Carnivals. Celebrating excellent student participation at the school swimming carnivals is a wonderful achievement! It signifies not only the physical prowess of the students but also their enthusiasm, teamwork and dedication to representing their House. Such events foster a sense of community spirit and provide valuable opportunities for students to showcase their talents and sportsmanship. Recognising and appreciating their efforts encourages a positive school culture and motivates students to continue striving for excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities. Congratulations to all the students who participated and contributed to the success of the swimming carnivals!

Thank you to Mr Fiegert for his wonderful organisation of the carnivals at a new venue and to all staff who assisted in any way on the two days. Thank you also to the spectators who attended over the two days to support their children. The Inter-school Teams for the Secondary and Primary will be announced in the coming days. Congratulations, in advance, to all students who are chosen to represent the College. I know that some students may be disappointed if they do not make a team, however, there are limits on the number of students the College is able to take to Inter-school  which we have to abide by. I thank parents/caregivers for your support if a child is not selected for an Inter-school team.

eSafety Schools’ Hub

The eSafety Commissioner has developed an eSafety Schools’ Hub to provide easy access to key online safety resources, including best practice planning tools, factsheets, posters and flyers.  There is also new social media and newsletter content to help communicate key online safety messages to your school community.   The Hub has been developed in consultation with Catholic Education Western Australia Limited (CEWA) through representation on eSafety’s National Online Safety Education Council.

The eSafety Schools’ Hub is available now at https://www.esafety.gov.au/educators/schools-hub.

I am sharing a letter from the eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, to Principals, providing key information about eSafety’s role, including online safety education and schemes for reporting online harm which is available here.

Peace & Goodness to all,

Ian Hagen
