SFS Colour Explosion 2024 is quickly approaching and this year we want to make it a big one!! All funds raised will go towards the installation of air conditioning in our learning spaces. Imagine how much more comfortable our kids and teachers will be on the 30+ degree days!

The school has asked the PFA to support this exciting project with our 2024 fundraising efforts. After careful consideration, the PFA has agreed to direct the funds raised in 2023 and 2024 towards the air conditioning project. This will enable the planned installation to be fully completed in 2024 before the summer. To achieve this, we need to raise as much as we can this year from our fundraisers.  Given how hot it gets in Melbourne, we hope the SFS community are also excited about the installation of air conditioning being of utmost priority. The school has explained that they will continue with plans to improve the play space. The sandpit, four-square, playground line markings were added in 2023. New basketball boards will soon be installed this term and imaginative play ideas like a shop front beside the sandpit are planned for later in the year.

The Colour Explosion is our biggest fundraiser for the year so we really encourage everyone to register online and ask family and friends for donations. All donations, small or large, will help us get to our target. (Please note there is an administration fee to Australian Fundraising Specialists, the company that helps us facilitate this fundraiser that covers the prizes the kids receive, as well as the colour powder, sunglasses and sweat bands used during the event.)

We welcome all parents to come and have a chat about our 2024 fundraising at our next PFA meeting on Wednesday 20 March. Share your thoughts and ideas with us or email us at sfspfa@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au. Your support is pivotal in ensuring that air conditioning is installed before the end of the 2024 school year. By working together, we can make this dream a reality and make all our learning spaces a much more comfortable learning environment for our kids."
