News from our School Captains

Leadership Forum at Parliament.

On Tuesday, we had the opportunity to go with Mr McFarlane and Marie Hage to the Primary School Leaders Forum held by Jess Wilson MP at the Victorian Parliament.  It was a very exciting experience to do and an interesting way to learn about parliament.

First, when we got off the tram, we arrived in the Victorian Parliament building and we had to get checked by security like when we go to the airport. Then we met Jess Wilson and we took a photo with her and the other schools.

After that we went on a tour of the 2 houses: the lower, green house and the upper, red house. In the upper house we introduced ourselves then did a speech. Lucas did a speech about inflation and I did one about peer pressure.

After the speeches, we had some food and a Q&A time with Jess Wilson and asked about everything she does as a member of Kew. After the forum, we enjoyed a hot chocolate in a city cafe. Finally, we hopped on the tram and went back to school. This was an exciting and interesting way to learn about parliament and we as school captains are grateful for this experience.
