Principal's Message
100 Days of Kindy
Last term we celebrated the achievements of our wonderful kindergarten students. We are so proud of you - it seems like yesterday we began this journey, but you have come so far and learnt so much!
Special thanks to the parents and staff for your combined effort to support these young learners, it has been a pleasure to work with such a thoughtful, patient and caring group of people. It is these attributes that make a successful school community.
Fun Day!
Students had a ball on our home reading celebration day at the end of last term. Well done at home for your work on regular home learning as part of your nightly routines. This term we have set another target for home learning. If the students reach the target of 65% positive entries into Sentral, we will have another mufti fun day at the end of this term. The day will be a movie character themed day with a red carpet at the front gate. Let's keep working on that home learning!
NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC Week will be in Week 3 this term, between August 5 and 9. Classes will be organising their own activities so will communicate plans to you via Seesaw.
Book Week 2024
Boambee Public School will be celebrating Book Week in Week 7 of this term. The Scholastic Book Fair will run in the library from Monday the 2nd of September to Friday the 6th of September. Our Annual Book Parade will be held on Friday the 6th of September, children will come dressed as their favourite book character. More information will be sent out as we get closer to the date.
Guitar Lessons
We have some space available in the guitar lesson timetable on Tuesdays. If you would like your child to participate please contact the front office on 6653 1107 to get a registration form.
Strength and Conditioning Program
Our Strength and Conditioning Program for Term 3 will begin this week, with Years 3-6 starting on Tuesday, August 6 and Years K-2 starting on Thursday, August 8. If you have missed out on registering for this fantastic program please contact the front office on 6653 1107 and we will link you with Daniel Moore who delivers the program.
Speech Program
Boambee Public School’s Speech Program is part of a special initiative funded by the school at a cost of approximately $12,000. This program is designed to provide additional support to our students. We are excited to announce that we have extended the Speech Program to include more students than ever before. Thanks to our experienced SLSO staff, the program is being delivered before school, ensuring students receive the help they need.
School Arrival Times
Please note that supervision for children begins at 8:25am unless you are doing strength and conditioning which starts at 8:15am. Any arrival before this time without parent supervision is too early, and your children are unsupervised in that circumstance.
Afternoon Pick Up
Please note that there is no stopping at the top of the hill behind the "no stopping" signs.
What is the fine for No Stopping in NSW 2024?
Failing to observe a no stopping sign can get you a $514 fine and 2 demerit points.
Unfortunately if there is no space to drive into, you will need to do another lap until there is a space. There has been an increase in people queuing behind the no stopping sign and this blocks the road for the rest of the traffic. The best course of action is to come after 3 pm when the traffic has subsided.
Sincere thanks to those families who have pushed back their drive through pick up times to a little later in the day, it has eased the pressure in the pick up zone.
Thank you also to the parents who have followed the request to wait at the tree instead of going up to the top COLA, this has increased our ability to supervise your children and safely manage a very busy departure routine at the end of the school day.
