Kinder/Year 1

We have just celebrated Kinder’s first 100 days of school learning, a significant milestone in our academic year.

At All Saints’, we celebrate 100 days of learning rather than 100 days of school. This ensures a seamless start to term three learning with academic rigour without interruption and acknowledges the role our students' first teachers, their parents, play in this journey. What an excellent partnership!

This day, which has become a tradition at All Saints’ and is gaining popularity across Australian Foundation classes, is more than just a fun event. It's a reflection of our commitment to learning and our progress towards our maths goals. The main theme of the day, the number 100, ties in perfectly with our maths goals to count to ten and beyond and understand the Base Ten Number system. It's a celebration of our collective achievements and a testament to the strength of our school community.

We counted many tens and ten times ten on Wednesday! We even had a centenarian come to say hello and tell us about life after 100 years of living!  We wrote about "When I am 100…” with some hilarious responses! We built towers, counted collections, and made a recess bag full of 100 delicious, tiny snacks. We threaded necklaces with 100 pieces and watched <100 minutes of a movie (not quite 100, but it was a busy day!) The Year 1 group is lucky enough to have celebrated this day twice in two years, so we congratulate them on another 100 days of learning to start 2024. Phew! We are now ready for a restful holiday… if only it were 100 days long!
