From the Principal's Desk
Dear Parents,
As we head into the mid-year holidays, I would like to wish you all a safe and happy break. Enjoy the special time you have with your children—they grow up so quickly.
I would like to thank the P&F and the parent body at large for all of your support this year. I am excited to see as many of you as possible next term on the 4th of September for our annual casserole night, if not before then.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the staff at All Saints’. It is my greatest pleasure to lead such a wonderful team. The amount of effort the staff put into every day, the care they show, and their flexibility is truly inspiring.
Looking forwards to term there are many exciting things on the horizon, we have the aforementioned casserole night, the school production (Mermaids vs Pirates), all hands on Ukes visiting performance and Jackie Murphy netball to name but a few.
In Week 1, Monday the 22nd and Tuesday the 23rd of July will be pupil-free days. While "pupil-free days" is the traditional term, these days are actually professional development days for staff. Monday is the second day for the year set aside by NESA for teachers to plan and develop their teaching programs using the new Mathematics and English syllabi, which were made compulsory this year. These two curriculum days are extra professional development days set aside for 2024 only.
Tuesday 23rd of July is a spirituality day for staff. In every Catholic school in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga, a professional development day (pupil-free day) is specifically set aside for the spiritual development of all staff. This supplements the spiritual development which staff receive during the year from Father Brancik and at staff meetings. The structure for this day is negotiated between each school and the Diocese of Wagga Wagga and goes towards a staff member's ‘Work, Teach and Lead’ hours, which is part of their accreditation to work in a Catholic school. This year, Mr. Mitch Bailey from CEDWW will be coming to All Saints' to run the spirituality day with Mrs. Middleton.
God Bless,
Daniel Francis
