This week in Writing we are learning to write an Information text.

VOCABULARY

Information text: a type of writing that gives you real facts. 

Features: the different parts of a text, for example, Title, Heading, Diagram and Facts 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to choose a topic they’re interested in (eg. kittens). Using their writing strategies (stretching out the sounds they hear in words, finger spaces, magic 100 Words and drawing a relevant picture) have them write a factual sentence about the topic. 

Eg. Kittens are baby cats. Kittens have 4 legs. Kittens have tails.
