Middle Schools Day
A very successful Middle Schools Day was held this week. Approximately 300 Year 5 and Year 6 students from our Primary Feeder schools attended the day. There was great excitement throughout the day as students attended workshops conducted by our teachers.
A huge thank you to Mrs Maree Medhurst and the teachers who ran workshops, as well as our office staff. The organisation and logistics of hosting an additional 300 students in addition to our current 700+ students were immense, but everyone was fed lunch and departed safely and seemingly very happy at the end of the day.
Middle Schools Day was developed to assist students in transitioning to high school and to prevent anxiety and tears. It has certainly achieved that objective and our new enrolments each year settle into high school very quickly.
Our enrolment applications for 2025 have exceed the 150 students that we are able to accommodate. This will mean a waiting list for Year 7 in 2025. We still have waiting lists in the current Year 7 and Year 8 cohorts.
P&F Meeting
Last night we held our Term 2 P&F meeting. Thank you to all the mothers who attended. During the meeting I was able to update the parents on the building work for both the collaboration space and the new two classrooms currently under construction. At this point, most of the groundwork has been completed and the concrete slab for the classrooms has been laid and is curing this week. The concrete slab for the Collaboration Space will be poured next week.
The aim is to have both buildings completed and operational by November, so weather permitting, we should be able to have the new spaces fully operational for 2025.
