Principal's Report
We are almost there! One more day until the mid-year break! Our students definitely need a break after such a busy term of hard work and events. I know our exhausted teachers and education support staff are well and truly ready to take a well-deserved break to reset and refresh before term 3.
Our recent 3-6 athletics day was a great success. Congratulations to all participants on a wonderful day. Well done Mr Fenech and Mrs Wright for organising the whole event.
We have been reviewing our classroom behaviour consequences processes at school. We have been trialling the buddy class system over the past few weeks and we have now refined our staged response to reflect the changes. Next term we will be educating students about the expectations of following the process when students are being disruptive in class and impacting the learning of others. Our hope is that by using the buddy class system where a student is able to reflect on their behaviour in another space and then return to their class more ready to learn, that we can avoid additional consequences like time-out. We are hoping students will come to understand that we are trying to help them regulate their own behaviour and provide them with support to do this, to help them avoid further consequences.
School reports will be published on Compass tomorrow. Hard copies are no longer sent home, but you can download and print reports directly from your child's Compass profile page. If you have any issues accessing the reports, please contact the office for support.
Please don't forget we are having a PINK day tomorrow to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This is a cause close to the hearts of many in our community who have been directly affected by cancer. I encourage all students to bring a gold coin donation and wear as much pink as possible to raise awareness.
Raffle tickets for students wishing to enter the Pink my Prin competition are being sold daily and tomorrow morning is students' last chance to enter! The winners will be drawn out in the morning and they will be invited up to decorate Mr Flanagan, Miss Jewell and I in all kinds of pink paraphernalia!
Take care everyone,
Alison Lough
