Assistant Principal P-6

Message from Mr Barnes

As we reached the end of Term 2, we reflect on the fantastic achievements and events of the past few weeks. It was a busy term filled with learning, growth, and community spirit. Here are some of the more recent highlights:

Assessment and Reporting

On Friday 14 June, our dedicated teachers came together for a student-free day. This day was dedicated to moderating assessments and finalising reporting for the conclusion of Semester 1. It was a productive time for our staff to reflect on the semester's progress and to prepare for a strong start to Semester 2. The collaboration and dedication of our teachers ensured the best possible learning outcomes for our students.

Unit 3/4 GAT Assessments

On Tuesday 18 June, our Unit 3/4 students undertook the General Achievement Test. We eagerly await the results and are proud of the effort and preparation our students put into this important examination. Their hard work and determination were commendable.

Year 3/4 Winter Sports Day

On Thursday 13 June, we hosted the Year 3/4 Winter Sports Day on our primary campus. Hundreds of Years 3/4 students from around the region came to participate in a range of different sports. It was a fantastic day with students and staff collaborating and competing in various activities. The opportunity to work together with our neighbouring schools was greatly welcomed, making the event a huge success.

Year 5/6 Winter Sports Day

In addition to the Year 3/4 Winter Sports Day, we also hosted the Year 5/6 Winter Sports Day. This event was held at our school and at the Northern Oval. Students signed up for a sport of their choice and competed in a round-robin sports day against other schools. It was an exciting day filled with friendly competition and team spirit. We are proud of our students' enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Year 7/8 Parents Information Evening

On Thursday 20 June, we hosted an information evening for the parents and carers of our Year 7 and 8 students. This session gave families the opportunity to provide feedback on how the newly formed classes are going. We valued the partnership we have with our families and appreciated this opportunity to engage, answer questions, and share insights.

Football Colours Day

On Friday 21 June, our students participated in Football Colours Day. It was wonderful to see students from P-12 dressed in their favourite sports colours, showing their team spirit. The event was a great success, with all proceeds going towards the MND fundraiser organised by the Kyabram Junior Football Club. Thank you to everyone who contributed and participated.
