Principal's message

Dear families,

Welcome to the new and exciting format of The Ibis. After a successful transition from the paper version to an online version, we are moving to bigger and brighter things. Staff and students are excited about sharing their fortnightly message with the community in this new format.

Now is the time to be taking extra care of your health. We currently have the flu and Covid back in the school community and wish for everyone to remain safe. Please keep checking in with school to keep us up to date in regard to the health of your family and to let us know if they are away from school.

We are excited to share that our very talented students are heading to KROP again this year. For those who are part of this performing arts group, notes are on the way and any families who wish to purchase a jacket have to get this back to the school ASAP. We have been told that there is no late order option available.

I was honoured to attend the Rice Festival meeting with Mrs McWhinnie last Wednesday to support her in accepting a $1500 grant from the Rice Festival Ambassadors. There are already some great ideas in how this money can be used to support students at Yanco PS. If you would like to learn more, remember you are always welcome to join the P & C team at their meetings.

Our Small School Athletics Carnival is being held next week. If you are able to help out on the day that would be brilliant. Events like these only work with the help of the community as a whole. Thank you to those parents who have already volunteered their time and support.

Kinder 2025

If you know of a family who has a child starting school in 2025, please let us know so that we can reach out and welcome them to our school. Enrolments are now open and we would love to make great links before the start of school.

Thank you

Mrs Taylor
