Grade 4 News

Welcome to Week 4!

Our novel His Name Was Walter is getting very exciting — it’s becoming hard to put down! We’ve been enjoying uncovering new twists in the story while exploring how authors build suspense and develop characters.

Maths has seen us exploring 3D shapes, focusing on their properties such as vertices, edges, faces, and surfaces. Students have been identifying and describing different shapes in the classroom and beyond.

For Religion, we’ve been learning about organisations that serve others, including Caritas, and discussing how we can show compassion and service in our own lives.

Our Humanities work focusses on life cycles — comparing the stages of different animals and plants and exploring how living things change as they grow.

A friendly reminder to please fill in reading diaries each night. Reading regularly at home — especially when shared and discussed with a parent — is one of the most effective ways to build vocabulary, comprehension, and a lifelong love of reading.

Your ongoing support with this makes a big difference to your child’s learning progress.
